Ears To You received a 100 Women Who Care-Cleveland donation in April! Ears To You will receive a $10,000 grant within the next month. These funds will help us provide moments of joy and hope to even more cancer patients via beautiful earrings, headscarves and hats!
100 Women Who Care members nominate local nonprofits by putting the name of a nonprofit into a hat each meeting. They choose three nonprofits each month. Members talk for five minutes about the nonprofit they nominated, discussing what the current needs are, and why it should be funded. The general membership asks questions of the presenting member for another five minutes. Members vote on their top choice after all three nonprofits are presented,
Votes are tallied and the winner is announced right there at the meeting! Then, all members write a check for $100 to that nonprofit, whether they voted for it or not. Some members are in groups of two for four, with each writing checks totalling $50 or $25 each.
100 Women Who Care meets every quarter and each member commits to donate $100 to the winning charity presented that night. The winning nonprofit then comes ot the next quarterly meeting to thank the membership for their donation. Discussion of how the money was used/will be used to further the mission of the nonprofit is presented.
For Ears To You, the funds will go to support a need that just came up- headscarves. We heard that many women wanted an alternative to wearing their wig and these cute, comfortable, soft headscarves are a godsend for them. We are so very thankful to 100 Women Who Care-Cleveland for their very generous donation!
